Due to the (beyond) ugly weather today’s programs at Napozó- Sunday Brunch and Budapest Secret Cinema: CINEPOOL- are canceled. The event will be held next Sunday under bright and sunshiny circumstances, so if you can, keep your wristband and come next weekend! The first three band will collaborate at 5 p.m., Punnany Massif’s acoustic version will start at 8 p.m.

We’ve got some great, last minute news for you: after Dry the River and Riva Starr, we are finishing our line-up additions for the festival with Kenny Larkin! If you can’t get enough of the Detroit techno scene, after Friday’s Carl Craig party, you should continue with Kenny Larkin on Saturday at Akvárium Klub! He will start at midnight, and will be followed up by Answer Code Request and Cosmin TRG to really get it out of you.
Our partner “in crime”, Uber gives you a 20% discount on the rides to and from the Hungarian Railway Museum – so you can get to Friday’s crazy techno bacchanalia easily. Use the promo code BPESVASUT for getting there and back, and you are all set!
We’ve received a great deal of interest – and we’d like to react on that, so we are relocating our Main Stage: from Zippp Open Air it moves to Palatinus Beach. We are still staying on Margaret Island, only moving 500 meters further :)
It generates some other changes: Saturday’s CityMatiné moves from Palatinus to its summer residence, Matiné Napozó (at Csillebérc). Also the Friday Main Stage concerts start earlier: in a day-time party friendly schedule Middlemist Red’s new set time is at 3.45 p.m., Dry the River is at 5 p.m. and The Wombats will be on stage at 6.30 p.m., on the 26th of June.
The more the merrier! ;)
Pre-sale passes, day tickets and concert tickets only run till Friday midnight! From Saturday, you can buy these tickets on full price. The festival pass will be 70 EUR, the day tickets for Friday and Saturday will be 50 EUR (which gets you a 4 days pass now), and concert tickets will range from 11 EUR to 20 EUR.
Last year’s Budapest Essentials ‘theme’ song – Easy – is on Antropos.hu’s list of Hungarian songs everyone listens to on repeat. Easy is not just ‘on it’, it’s on the prestigious 4th place! You’d better get acquainted with local pop music starting with Budapest Essentials’ festival anthem!
There is one more smooth, Grammy-nominated, party anthem champion, who’s coming to Budapest Essentials: Duke Dumont! Yes, he will definitely be here to shake up our Saturday line-up even more. Warm up those dance-muscles, ‘cause he’ll demand your attention on the 27 of June.
The Wombats. Duke Dumont. Eskmo. Astronautalis. Answer Code Request. Cosmin TRG. And more to come! 7 new acts announced for Budapest Essentials. We are going to have a jam-packed 4 days: from Liverpool’s post-punk to the musical version of the Californian sun.
